“Do I have to exercise?”
“Only exercise if you want to feel
better quicker and prevent pain,“ your West Des Moines
chiropractic encourages.
“How much time do I have to spend exercising each day?”
“Not long, just effectively,” Executive Chiropractic of Iowa
advises.
Exercise is not every West Des Moines back pain or neck
pain patient’s ‘cup of tea’. Executive Chiropractic of Iowa understands.
Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain
patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our West Des Moines
chiropractic patients every step of the way to make
the most of the exercise effort so that it pays off in pain prevention
and relief.
OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Neck pain sufferers realize how pain
may decrease their neck motion. Such neck pain patients were assessed for
their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test.
They were then directed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine
exercise session. Half of them were then also
treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine
levels. Those who performed the exercise program and were treated benefitted significantly
better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction,
and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another study revealed
that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic
myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as opposed to 15
or 60 seconds or no stretching. This allowed the best
benefit to pain intensity reduction while diminishing
any negative effects on neural function of the affected
nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Executive Chiropractic of Iowa always highlights
that the appropriate exercise performed in the right
way doesn’t have to take long to be useful!
Additionally, exercise places some control in the
hands of its sufferer since exercise can be done whenever.
OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Incorporating exercise training into the
multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain makes
sense. Such back pain affects so many
people globally and is a foremost
source of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back
pain sufferer to self-management. Recently, researchers suggested
that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health struggles
in these back pain patients - were improved with choices
like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga,
and stabilization exercise. (3) Executive Chiropractic of Iowa agrees! Exercise is valuable
on so many fronts.
